ABOUT US

Welcome to Five Oaks Nursery & Tree Farm!

Five Oaks Nursery and Tree Farm is a family-owned establishment with a proud history spanning over four decades. In 2017, Wil Massengil, his wife Kary, and her father Ernie became the proud owners of Five Oaks. Our nursery is located in the scenic landscapes of Wilmington, North Carolina which is supported by our 50-acre tree farm in Burgaw.

With a finger on the pulse of the industry, we understand the ever-changing demands of landscaping professionals and garden centers. That’s why our plant list is continuously evolving, ensuring we provide the most sought-after and high-quality plant varieties available. When you visit our nursery you will discover our extensive range of plants carefully curated to suit a variety of tastes and styles.  As licensed growers of Encore™ Azaleas, Southern Living™, Star Roses™, and Proven Winners™, we ensure high-quality offerings that meet the diverse needs of our customers.

We are immensely grateful for the unwavering support of our customers throughout the years. Their trust in our expertise and dedication has been the cornerstone of our success.

Our Guarantee

We Guarantee:

  1. Our plants are true to name.
  2. Our plants are healthy when they leave the nursery.

What we cannot Guarantee:

• The purchaser’s gardening abilities and/or plant knowledge.
• Drought, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Floods, or Acts of God.
• Lawn Mower or Weed Eater use around your plant.
• The behavior of your neighborhood’s male dogs and cats.
• The behavior of moles, voles, rabbits, deer, and other critters.
• Soil and/or the conditions in your planting area, for example, drainage or soil PH.

Once the plant leaves the nursery, too much is out of our control to guarantee its survival. Our plants are routinely inspected by our staff and the NC Department of Agriculture because we are truly a nursery – not a garden center – and we feel confident about their health. But once they go to your property, they are in your care.
